Summary of Major Functions:

Lead, provide, and maintain structure for Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. Services include conducting psycho-educational groups, facilitating meals and meal processing, documentation, and encouraging a therapeutic milieu. Provide leadership to milieu therapist team.

Summarized Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates knowledge of and practice of effective counseling skills.
  2. Facilitates meals with patients in a fashion consistent with current policies and procedures; eats and models appropriate eating behaviors during assigned mealtimes with patients.
  3. Contributes clinical information and observations about patients in weekly staffing.
  4. Thoroughly integrates new patients into the program via orientation demonstrating knowledge of all aspects of the clinical program.
  5. Demonstrates ability to build therapeutic rapport.
  6. Facilitates groups with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, set limits and monitor the group process.
  7. Maintains daily program structure.
  8. Responsible for program scheduling, meal coverage, and coverage of milieu program, including PTO requests.
  9. Assigns MOD (Milieu on Duty) schedules and ensure all duties, policies and procedures are carried out correctly.
  10. Trains new employees in milieu.
  11. Provides daily leadership to Milieu Therapists to ensure that milieu responsibilities are completed in a timely fashion.
  12. Models effective therapeutic relationships with clients and professional relationships with colleagues to demonstrate a positive, collaborative team environment.
  13. Provides individual therapy when backup coverage is needed for Primary Therapists.
  14. Creates effective relationships and be the liaison with other departments in creating and improving workflow and processes.
  15. Be liaison to on call milieu therapists.
  16. Coordinates training and support of internship students

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in behavioral health field required.
  2. Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis required.
  3. Good oral and written communication skills preferred.
  4. One year tenure at EDCare or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities as determined by clinical management required.
  5. Actively pursuing Colorado license required.
  6. Demonstrated leadership skills and promote positive relationships with colleagues required.

Physical demands of this job include but are NOT limited to:

  • Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking occasionally, hearing constantly, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately. This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally.

Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:

  • 95% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office environment.
